Rust-Wrapped Silver-Accent Cup
This is a Mino ware cup.
The bold two-tone design of black and beige evokes the natural layers of the earth, reminiscent of the great outdoors.
With its handle-free design, this traditional Japanese cup is versatile enough to be used for tea, coffee, or even sake.
Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly from piece to piece. Thank you for your understanding.
Mino ware originated during the Momoyama period, alongside the rise of the tea ceremony, and is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It was particularly loved by tea masters during the birth of Japan's wabi-sabi culture. Notable types of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow "Kizeto," the glossy jet-black "Setoguro," the soft milky-white "Shino ware," and the uniquely green-patterned "Oribe ware." Today, Mino ware accounts for more than half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
