Kohiki Rabbit Large Rice Bowl
This is a Mino ware rice bowl.
A simple design of a rabbit in mid-leap is illustrated on a plain white background, giving the bowl a clean and elegant look.
Its modest style resembles the kind of rice bowl often found in Japanese home cooking, making it well-suited for traditional meals like rice with ichiju-sansai (one soup, three side dishes)—a cornerstone of Japanese cuisine.
Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly from piece to piece. Thank you for your understanding.
Mino ware originated during the Momoyama period, alongside the rise of the tea ceremony, and is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It was particularly loved by tea masters during the birth of Japan's wabi-sabi culture. Notable types of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow Kizeto, the glossy jet-black Setoguro, the soft milky-white Shino ware, and the uniquely green-patterned Oribe ware. Today, Mino ware accounts for more than half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
