This is a piece of Mino ware tableware.

It can be used as a set with [Cotowaku Cobalt Silver-Decorated Round Tonsui Bowl].

Far from being just a simple square plate, its wavy, undulating edges add a stylish, artistic flair to the design.

The refreshing blue color evokes the image of a clear puddle of water on a sunny day after the rain—bright and serene.

In addition to being used as a dish, it also works beautifully as an interior accent or a tray for accessories, making it a versatile item.

Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly between individual items. Thank you for your understanding.

Mino ware is a type of pottery that began during the Momoyama period and is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It flourished alongside the rise of the Japanese tea ceremony and was especially loved by tea masters during the emergence of Japan’s wabi-sabi aesthetic. Representative styles of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow Kizeto, the lustrous jet-black Setoguro, the soft milky-white Shino ware, and the distinctively green Oribe ware, known for its rare and unique patterns. Today, Mino ware accounts for over half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
