White Combed Rice Bowl
This is a Shigaraki ware rice bowl.
Its pure white surface has a soft, graceful beauty—simple yet refined.
When filled with freshly cooked rice, the bowl brings out a gentle sparkle, making each grain look even more inviting, like freshly fallen snow.
Since each bowl is individually handmade, there may be differences in appearance and texture from product to product. Please understand this beforehand.
This is Shigaraki ware. Shigaraki ware is a pottery produced mainly in the area around Koga County, Shiga Prefecture. Shigaraki is good at making large ceramics, and in the past, hibachi (brazier) was often made. In modern times, flowerpots, vases, and washbasins are also produced in large quantities. Shigaraki ware is also famous throughout Japan and the world for its raccoon dog figurines.
