Tokusa Blue Stripe Bowl
This is a Mino ware tableware.
A classic Tokusa stripe pattern is beautifully rendered across this Mino ware bowl.
The fine indigo lines radiate from the center, offering a refined, traditional look
that still feels fresh in contemporary settings.
Perfect for side dishes, soups, or even a small donburi.
Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly from piece to piece. Thank you for your understanding.
Mino ware originated during the Momoyama period, alongside the rise of the tea ceremony, and is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It was particularly loved by tea masters during the birth of Japan’s wabi-sabi culture. Notable types of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow Kizeto, the glossy jet-black Setoguro, the soft milky-white Shino ware, and the uniquely green-patterned Oribe ware. Today, Mino ware accounts for more than half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
