Red Cat's Back Rice Bowl
This is a Mino ware rice bowl.
The design featuring a cat sitting with its back turned adds a charming touch to this rice bowl.
The warm pink and brown color scheme is also delightful.
If you find it a bit too small for serving rice, it’s also recommended as a decorative piece. It would make a lovely gift for any cat lover.
Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly from piece to piece. Thank you for your understanding.
Mino ware originated during the Momoyama period, alongside the rise of the tea ceremony, and is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It was particularly loved by tea masters during the birth of Japan's wabi-sabi culture. Notable types of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow Kizeto, the glossy jet-black Setoguro, the soft milky-white Shino ware, and the uniquely green-patterned Oribe ware. Today, Mino ware accounts for more than half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
