Mino ware is a traditional Japanese ceramic that began flourishing during the Momoyama period alongside the rise of the tea ceremony. It is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, and was especially loved by tea masters who helped shape Japan's wabi-sabi aesthetic. Notable styles of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow of Kizeto, the lustrous black of Setoguro, the soft, milky white of Shino ware, and the uniquely green-glazed Oribe ware. Today, Mino ware accounts for over half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
