Luster Flower Scattering Bowl
This is Mino ware tableware.
This bowl is charmingly decorated with cherry blossoms, a symbol of Japan.
As it is a slightly deep dish, it is also recommended for serving salads.
Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly from item to item.
Mino ware is a type of pottery that began during the Momoyama period, flourishing alongside the rise of the tea ceremony. It is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It was especially beloved by tea masters who were active during the Momoyama period, the origin of Japan's wabi-sabi aesthetic.
Representative colors and styles of Mino ware include the elegant pale yellow "Kizeto," the glossy jet-black "Setoguro," the milky white "Shino ware" reminiscent of soft skin, and the uniquely green-patterned "Oribe ware," which is particularly rare.
Today, Mino ware accounts for more than half of the domestic production share of porcelain tableware in Japan.
