Mino ware, which began during the Momoyama period, is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It rose to prominence alongside the development of the Japanese tea ceremony and was especially cherished by tea masters who were deeply involved in Japan's wabi-sabi aesthetic. The representative colors of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow of Kizeto, the glossy black of Setoguro, the soft, milky white of Shino ware, and the distinctive green hues of Oribe ware. Today, Mino ware accounts for over half of Japan's domestic porcelain tableware production.
