Ishiyaki Bamboo-Leaf Rectangular Dish
This is Mino ware tableware.
With a soft, orange-tinged beige background reminiscent of a sunset and a design featuring bamboo leaves, this rectangular plate evokes the poetic beauty of an autumn sky in Japan.
Its shallow design makes it ideal for serving dry Japanese dishes such as grilled fish.
Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly from piece to piece. Thank you for your understanding.
Mino ware is a type of pottery that began during the Momoyama period and is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It flourished alongside the rise of the tea ceremony and was especially favored by tea masters during the birth of Japan’s wabi-sabi aesthetic. Notable styles of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow Kizeto, the lustrous jet-black Setoguro, the soft milky-white Shino ware, and the uniquely green Oribe ware, all known for their distinctive beauty. Today, Mino ware accounts for over half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
