This product is authentic Shigaraki-yaki, crafted in the historic pottery region around Koka City, Shiga Prefecture.

Historically, Shigaraki was renowned for producing large-scale ceramics like Hibachi (charcoal brazier). Today, the region continues to thrive, creating a diverse range of items including flower pots, vases, and washbasins. Shigaraki is perhaps most famous worldwide for its charming Tanuki (raccoon dog) statues, which have become a symbol of the area’s craft.
