Gaifu Kaisei Ramen Bowl
This is a Mino ware bowl.
The design is inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's Clear Day with a South Wind, Fine Weather from his Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji series. While the original artwork features Mount Fuji in red, on this bowl, the mountain is depicted in blue to harmonize with the surrounding design, creating a calm and balanced aesthetic.
We highly recommend using this bowl for serving ramen or udon and enjoying traditional Japanese dishes.
Please note that there may be slight variations in appearance and texture depending on the product. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
Mino ware began during the Momoyama period alongside the rise of chanoyu (the Japanese tea ceremony) and is primarily produced in the Toki city area of Gifu Prefecture. It has been particularly cherished by the tea masters of the Momoyama period, when Japan’s wabi-sabi culture first blossomed. The representative colors of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow "Kizeto," the glossy jet black "Setoguro," the soft, milky white "Shino ware" reminiscent of smooth skin, and the distinctive green patterns of "Oribe ware." Today, Mino ware accounts for over half of Japan’s domestic production of porcelain tableware.
