This is Mino ware tableware.

A striking piece featuring a bold pattern reminiscent of something burnt by fire, creating a powerful and somewhat rugged impression.

With its deep structure, this large bowl is perfect for serving salads, but also looks impressive with main dishes that have a bit of liquid.

To make the pattern stand out even more, serving a smaller amount can still create a strong visual impact.

Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly from piece to piece. Thank you for your understanding.

Mino ware originated during the Momoyama period, alongside the rise of the tea ceremony, and is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It was particularly loved by tea masters during the birth of Japan's wabi-sabi culture. Notable types of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow "Kizeto," the glossy jet-black "Setoguro," the soft milky-white "Shino ware," and the uniquely green-patterned "Oribe ware." Today, Mino ware accounts for more than half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
