Blue Footed Pedestal Bowl
This is a Mino ware tableware.
This small pedestal bowl features vivid red geometric patterns around the rim
and a charming blue bird motif at its center.
The blue foot, reminiscent of Mt. Fuji’s silhouette, adds a graceful lift to the piece.
Ideal for serving small side dishes or traditional sweets with elegance.
Please note that the appearance and texture may vary slightly from piece to piece. Thank you for your understanding.
Mino ware originated during the Momoyama period, alongside the rise of the tea ceremony, and is primarily produced in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. It was particularly loved by tea masters during the birth of Japan’s wabi-sabi culture. Notable types of Mino ware include the refined pale yellow Kizeto, the glossy jet-black Setoguro, the soft milky-white Shino ware, and the uniquely green-patterned Oribe ware. Today, Mino ware accounts for more than half of all porcelain tableware produced in Japan.
